Eyes Upon the Cross
By Don A. Mueller
Taking place during the crucifixion, Eyes Upon the Cross catches characters in the life of Jesus at this time: Mary the Mother, the Centurian, Judas, Barabbas, Simon, Peter, and Mary Magdalene. We see the people on the hill during the crucifixion, and in the homes during and after it, were not so different from the people in the audience.
We never see the cross or Jesus, but both are a vivid part of the play. Audience members may ask themselves, "What would I do in these circumstances?" The crucifixion becomes real and relevant.
