What should I bring to rehearsals?

  • Your script

  • A pencil

  • Wear clothing that is comfortable, modest, and easy to move in

How do I make my costume?

To minimize stress and to make sure anything you make or order arrives on time, start working on finding your costume right away. Don't wait until the week before dress rehearsal to start.

  • If you don't already own clothing that would work as your costume, check a thrift store (Goodwill, Salvation Army, local stores). You may have to visit several different thrift stores to find what you're looking for. This will likely be your cheapest and easiest way to find most costume pieces.

  • Amazon is another option. It is often more expensive or lower quality, but it is new. It is often harder to find non-modern clothing that is affordable.

  • If you like to sew, you can always make your own. Patterns can be found at fabric stores (JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby) or online (Amazon or downloads from Etsy). You can use thrifted bedsheets and curtains as fabric to save money.

  • Check the Costume Guide in the File Share for ideas and suggestions for your particular character. You can always ask Joy or Vicky for advice.

Do I have to wear stage makeup?

Makeup is always optional. The purpose of stage makeup is to make your features more visible to the audience who is sitting far away and in the dark. Both males and females wear makeup in theater.

However, we realize that this is another expense, learning curve, and a possible allergen and skin irritant. Therefore, no matter your character makeup is always optional.

Got more questions about stage makeup? See the "GYAT Stage Makeup Guide" in the File Share.

How do I get my 2 free tickets?

Once tickets are on sale, you may visit the Ticketing page, select which show, and enter the coupon code Terrific25.

Unfortunately, with how Wix coupons work you have to have a separate transaction for each coupon you use. Say you want to use both of your comp tickets for the same performance. You would have to do two separate transactions in order for the coupon to work properly.
